My Blog #3

I happen to believe in libertarianism because doing what makes you happy is what's important. Having the liberty to make your own decisions when you want, when you want without being judged or punished. Today, many of us live in embarrassment of what we like such as fashion styles or music because our peers of society in general wouldn't agree with our view and then judge us as "weird". Libertarianism promotes the happiness from within, with no regret or hesitation, do what makes you happy!
These principles can work with my morals because its doing what makes you happy. You have one life and life should be viewed more as a celebration and when you celebrate, you tend to not want it to end. Just as life, you want to enjoy your life "free" to do as you please. If an individual worships Satan, its what makes them happy, they should not be judged and viewed as a horrible person because you cannot agree with that individual's belief. I can live with my morals and libertarianism because if the world was more happier doing what they liked, the world would be a much better place. Sure, views are going to conflict with others but as long as there is peace afterwards and no hard feelings after, everything will be just fine. If I didn't agree with someone's way of life or a practice they do, I would discuss it with them and acknowledge my feelings as I acknowledge theirs. Afterwards, end the discussion with a smile and a thank you for expressing your feelings.

  1. I enjoyed reading this blog because it was an opposing view from my own. Although I lean more towards equality your reasons for promoting personal freedom and happiness made me see a different side of the issue. I also agree with you that happiness is important and that by being able to do things you freely choose you make that happiness possible.

  2. I think determining a healthy balance between allow others to do as they please and what's good for the greater good. Libertarianism in excess can lead to total anarchy and wide spread hedonism.

  3. While i think what you are saying is morally good. because letting people just do what makes them happy should lead to a better world. however it wont. some people are just bad. i tend to agree with the comment above "libertarianism in excess can lead to total anarchy" very true.
